Job description
FEQ227R339
The Public Sector Field Enablement Manager builds the enablement strategy that helps Databricks win new public sector customers, deepen account engagement, and grow platform consumption with a focus on Federal and National Security. This role partners with Sales and Field Engineering leadership to translate public sector priorities into measurable improvements in field readiness, pipeline, ramp, and consumption outcomes.
The Impact You Will Have
- Within the first 12–18 months, establish a prioritized public sector enablement roadmap supporting approximately 75 account executives and the field engineers aligned to their accounts, with progress and business impact reviewed in regular leadership business reviews.
- Improve public sector field readiness by establishing and increasing adoption of role-specific certifications, skills, and selling behaviors for account executives and solutions architects.
- Reduce time to productivity for new public sector account executives and solutions architects by establishing repeatable ramp outcomes tied to procurement, compliance, buyer, and Databricks platform knowledge.
- Increase enablement-influenced pipeline and public sector consumption attainment by equipping field teams to apply segment-specific account strategies, value narratives, and sales plays in active opportunities.
- Improve deal execution in public sector accounts by enabling teams to navigate government procurement vehicles, security requirements, compliance considerations, and competitive positioning.
- Create a measurable feedback loop between the public sector field, business unit leadership, GTM & support teams, and Global Enablement that converts recurring field needs into prioritized programs and scales successful practices into broader enablement motions.
What We Look For
- 6+ years of experience in sales enablement, revenue enablement, field enablement, sales, or technical pre-sales within the technology sector, including experience supporting both commercial and technical audiences.
- Demonstrated experience supporting, selling to, or enabling teams that serve federal or national security agencies, with a practical understanding of public sector procurement, compliance, and buyer decision-making.
- Proven ability to build and operationalize an enablement function or major program from the ground up in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience serving as a trusted advisor to senior Sales and Field Engineering leaders and translating business strategy into prioritized enablement outcomes.
- Exceptional written, verbal, storytelling, and presentation skills, including the ability to influence executives and engage large audiences.
- A measurement-oriented approach to enablement, with experience connecting readiness, skills, and behaviors to pipeline, consumption, ramp, or other business outcomes.
- Experience using AI technologies to create, scale, measure, or deliver enablement, along with the ability to build working knowledge of data and AI concepts, Lakehouse architecture, and the Databricks platform.
