Job description

Figure is an AI robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots. The goal of the company is to ship humanoid robots with human level intelligence. Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA.

You’ll be working within our small but impactful XR team, contributing to a number of critical projects. One morning you might be debugging an XR app, the next afternoon you're running a hardware experiment on the robot. You'll thrive here if you love that kind of variety and move fast without needing a playbook.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain XR products to interface with our robots and data-capture hardware - implementing features, fixing bugs, and ensuring reliability as we scale.
  • Design and build out intuitive spatial user interfaces and visualizations.
  • Harden our XR data sync processes.
  • Integrate custom hardware stacks with off-the-shelf XR headsets.
  • Jump across hardware experiments, bug fixes, and new feature development as priorities shift.

Requirements:

  • Deep hands-on XR development experience - OpenXR, Unity, Godot, Unreal Engine, and/or WebXR,
  • Comfortable working in XR for extended periods; this is your daily environment, not an occasional tool.
  • Strong C++.
  • Experience with video streaming and low-latency transmission systems.
  • Experience with high-precision motion-capture systems and tracking technologies.
  • Startup experience — you know how to operate with ambiguity and move fast.
  • Bonus: computer vision, robotics, custom hardware, cloud APIs, haptics.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $200,000 to $400,000 per year.

The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended.
