Intel's Foundry Automation (IFA) group is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Storage Engineer.
In this role, you will lead the architecture, deployment, optimization, and lifecycle management of NetApp storage platforms supporting engineering, cloud, virtualization, OpenShift, and AI infrastructure environments. You will be responsible for delivering scalable NAS, object, and data protection solutions while also supporting enterprise SAN services and storage integration across virtualized and platform services environments.
This role is central to designing, implementing, maintaining, and scaling high-performance storage platforms that support Intel Foundry's critical infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with platform engineering, cloud, DevOps, virtualization, and software engineering teams to build reliable, automated, and highly available storage services.
The ideal candidate combines deep NetApp expertise with storage engineering, automation, and operational excellence. Experience with enterprise SAN technologies, Fibre Channel fabrics, block storage provisioning, and storage networking concepts is highly desirable to support mixed storage environments and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Plan, manage, and optimize installation, configuration, and tuning of NetApp NAS platforms, SAN, SDS, object storage, and backup solutions.
- Design and implement scalable storage solutions supporting bare metal, virtualized, containerized, and cloud environments.
- Manage storage provisioning, replication, data protection, performance optimization, capacity management, and lifecycle activities.
- Lead storage modernization, migration, and automation initiatives while maintaining operational standards and documentation.
- Monitor performance and utilization, troubleshoot storage issues, and ensure high availability and data integrity across the environment.
- Partner with infrastructure, virtualization, networking, cloud, and software engineering teams to deliver reliable and scalable storage services.
The Ideal Candidate Must Demonstrate:
- Strong hands-on experience with NetApp ONTAP administration, including NAS services, data protection, and storage lifecycle management.
- In-depth knowledge of NAS, SAN, SDS, and Object Storage technologies, including configuration, performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with storage protocols including NFS, SMB/CIFS, S3, Fibre Channel (FC), and iSCSI.
- Experience with NetApp technologies such as SnapMirror, SnapVault, Snapshot, FlexVol, FlexGroup, and Storage Virtual Machines (SVMs).
- Familiarity with enterprise SAN platforms such as PowerMax or similar enterprise storage arrays.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Veeam and SnapVault.
- Strong background supporting on-premises storage infrastructure in physical and virtualized environments, with familiarity in hybrid cloud integration.
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Python, PowerShell, and REST APIs to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve storage, performance, replication, and capacity-related issues.
- Effective in collaborating with both technical and non-technical teams and communicating complex technical concepts clearly.
This position requires regular onsite presence at our Chandler, Arizona facility.

Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with NetApp AFF, FAS, ASA, and other related platforms.
- Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and NetApp Trident.
- Experience with Veeam, Rubrik, Cohesity, or other enterprise backup solutions.
