NVIDIA cuOpt
Project record
cuOpt is NVIDIA's GPU-accelerated optimization engine for linear programming, quadratic programming, and vehicle routing, with beta support for mixed integer, quadratically constrained quadratic, and second-order cone programming. Its core is written in C++ with C, Python, and server APIs. NVIDIA announced in March 2025 that it would open-source cuOpt, and an NVIDIA post in June 2025 said it was available under Apache 2.0.1589

Availability and license
Overall availability
Source code is public on GitHub, with pip packages from the NVIDIA Python Package Index, conda packages, and Docker Hub container images. Separately, the documentation says the cuOpt microservice offered through NVIDIA AI Enterprise requires an NVIDIA AI Enterprise license or NVIDIA Developer Program membership.15
Availability is separate from permission: read the license before using or redistributing.

Public materials checklist
| Item | Status | Notes and evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Source codeIs the source code publicly readable? | Public | Developed in the public NVIDIA/cuopt GitHub repository, which is also hosted as a COIN-OR project.1 |
| DocumentationIs user documentation published? | Public | NVIDIA publishes a user guide covering the routing, LP, QP, and MIP features and the C, Python, and server APIs; the README says the C++ API is not documented.51 |
| InstallationAre installation instructions or packages publicly available? | Public | The README documents pip, conda, Docker Hub containers (Ubuntu and FIPS-oriented UBI10 images), and building from source.1 |
| Supported platformsAre supported operating systems or hardware documented? | Public | Linux on x86_64 and aarch64, and Windows through WSL2; NVIDIA Volta or newer GPUs (compute capability 7.0+), CUDA 12.0+ or 13.0+, and Python 3.11 to 3.14.16 |
| Release statusAre versioned releases published? | Public | Versioned releases follow the RAPIDS release schedule; v26.08.00, published on GitHub on August 6, 2026, was the latest non-prerelease when checked.71 |

Organization context
U.S. eligibility
Eligible · basis: U.S.-governed project
The repository is in NVIDIA's GitHub organization, source files carry NVIDIA Corporation & Affiliates copyright notices, and the contribution guide says the NVIDIA cuOpt team triages issues and schedules them for releases. The README says the repository is also hosted as a COIN-OR project, and NVIDIA's posts describe working with the COIN-OR Foundation to make and distribute cuOpt as open source; no governing role for COIN-OR is documented in the sources reviewed. NVIDIA's principal executive offices are in Santa Clara, California, per its Form 10-Q for the quarter ended July 26, 2026.4318910
