OpenVINO
Project record
OpenVINO is Intel's open-source toolkit for converting, optimizing, and running deep learning models, including language and generative models. It converts models from PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, PaddlePaddle, JAX, and other frameworks and runs inference on CPUs (x86 and ARM), Intel GPUs, and Intel NPUs, with APIs in C++, Python, C, and Node.js.14

Public materials checklist
Items for a runtime under USASI rubric v0.2. Unknown means unassessed or insufficient evidence.
| Item | Status | Notes and evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Source codeIs the source code publicly readable? | Public | Public repository in the openvinotoolkit GitHub organization.1 |
| DocumentationIs user documentation published? | Public | Official documentation covers installation, model preparation, inference devices, GenAI, and system requirements.15 |
| InstallationAre installation instructions or packages publicly available? | Public | The README gives `pip install -U openvino` and links to installation guides for other distributions.1 |
| Supported platformsAre supported operating systems or hardware documented? | Public | The system requirements list Windows 10 and 11, Ubuntu 22.04, 24.04, and 26.04, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and 9, openSUSE Tumbleweed, and macOS 12.6 or later on ARM64 for CPU inference, including Intel, ARM, and Apple silicon CPUs; Intel Arc, Iris Xe, and data center GPUs; and Intel NPUs on Windows 11 and Ubuntu. Python 3.10 to 3.14 is listed.5 |
| Release statusAre versioned releases published? | Public | Reviewed release 2026.4.1, published October 1, 2026. This entry describes the project rather than one release.6 |
