Cisco releases Antares-350M and Antares-1B, open-weight models for locating vulnerable code
Cisco introduced Antares on July 21, 2026, a family of security-focused small language models for finding which source files in a codebase are likely to contain a known vulnerability, and released Antares-350M and Antares-1B as open-weight models on Hugging Face. Cisco says the models start from a vulnerability description, search and read files in a repository, and output a ranked list of likely files along with the terminal exploration trace, and that they are not meant to replace the broader application security toolchain. The Antares-1B model card lists the Apache 2.0 license and says the model is built on IBM Granite 4.0 1B; downloading it requires accepting gated-access terms on Hugging Face. Cisco says an Antares-3B model is coming soon. USASI has not tested the models.12
