Poolside releases Laguna S 2.1, a 118B-parameter open-weight model with a 1M-token context
Poolside introduced Laguna S 2.1 on July 21, 2026, a Mixture-of-Experts model with 118B total parameters and 8B activated per token that the model card says is designed for agentic coding and long-horizon work. Poolside describes it as a scale-up of the Laguna XS family, and the model card lists a 1,048,576-token context window. The weights are on Hugging Face under the OpenMDW-1.1 license, with FP8, NVFP4, INT4, and GGUF variants and a DFlash draft model for speculative decoding. USASI has not tested this model.12
