Release
Poolside releases Laguna XS 2.1, a 33B-parameter open-weight coding model, under OpenMDW-1.1
Poolside introduced Laguna XS 2.1 on July 2, 2026, describing it as a Mixture-of-Experts model with 33B total parameters and 3B activated per token. The model card calls it an upgraded version of Laguna XS.2, designed for agentic coding and long-horizon work on a local machine. Poolside licenses the weights under OpenMDW-1.1 and publishes them on Hugging Face in BF16, FP8, NVFP4, and INT4 formats; the model is also offered through Poolside's API and OpenRouter. USASI has not tested this model.12
