Runway releases Ruby, a model that converts SDR video to HDR

Event: · Published:

Runway's changelog records that on August 20, 2026 it released Runway Ruby, which it describes as a native color grading model that converts SDR video into HDR, available in Tool Mode, Workflows, and Runway Dev. Runway's product page says Ruby accepts SDR clips up to 30 seconds and up to 4K, including Runway generations, third-party model output, or existing footage, keeps the source pixels and audio, and delivers HDR10, HLG, ProRes, or OpenEXR masters. Developers can call it through a video_to_hdr endpoint in the Runway Dev API with the model set to ruby. Ruby is a hosted model; Runway does not describe a release of weights. USASI has not tested Ruby.12
