Stanford assistant professor who runs the IRIS lab; co-founder of Physical Intelligence and co-author of π0
- Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, Stanford University1
- Co-founder, Physical Intelligence1
Chelsea Finn is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Stanford University and a co-founder of Physical Intelligence (Pi). Finn's IRIS lab studies intelligence through robotic interaction at scale, and Finn's homepage notes earlier time at Google with the Google Brain and Google DeepMind teams. Finn is first author of the Model-Agnostic Meta-Learning (MAML) paper and a co-author of the π0 vision-language-action model paper, whose model is published in Physical Intelligence's openpi repository. Finn teaches Stanford's CS224R Deep Reinforcement Learning.1234
Work
π0 (openpi)Open-source code
Co-author of "π0: A Vision-Language-Action Flow Model for General Robot Control" (2024). The Apache-2.0 openpi repository, published by the Physical Intelligence team, provides the π0 model with base checkpoints for fine-tuning.34
Model-Agnostic Meta-Learning (MAML) (external site: arxiv.org)Published research
First author, with Pieter Abbeel and Sergey Levine, of the 2017 paper proposing a model-agnostic meta-learning algorithm that trains models to adapt to new tasks from a few examples.2
