MIT License
The MIT License is a short permissive license for software. Its standard text is listed on the SPDX License List under the identifier MIT and is reproduced by the Open Source Initiative. The text is a template that begins with a copyright line naming the year and the copyright holders of each project that uses it.12

What the license text says
- Permissions
- Permission is granted "free of charge" to anyone who obtains a copy to deal in the software "without restriction," including the rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies, and to let others they furnish it to do the same.12
- Notice condition
- The one condition is that the copyright notice and the permission notice "shall be included in all copies or substantial portions of the Software."12
- No warranty
- The software is provided "AS IS", without warranty of any kind, and the authors or copyright holders are not liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the software or its use.12
- Patents and trademarks
- The license text contains no clause that mentions patents or trademarks.1
